Gallery:
Deepsky
Description:
The Wizard Nebula is a collection of interstellar gas surrounding the open star cluster, NGC 7380. It lies approximately 7200 light-years away from Earth in the constellation Cepheus and is located in the Perseus Arm of the Milky Way. See my second image where it is in the Milky Way! SHO image (the so called Hubble Palette, because the famous telescope takes pictures this way). So Sulphur is put into the Red Channel, Hydrogen into the Green Channel and Oxygen into the Blue Channel. The Channels where shot with Narrowband Filters and a Mono-Astrocam. The stars are shot with RGB-Filters and the same Mono-Astrocam. Total Integration Time 10hours 40 minutes with a fast f2.2 telescope at 620mm focal length.
